Joseph "Jeb" Brackner

Producer // Editor // Storyteller

Born and raised in Alabama, Jeb Brackner’s filmmaking passion began with the family digital camera. After 11 years of professional experience in premium video production, he knows exactly where to place the camera and also how to create a space where subjects feel safe to be themselves.

He studied at the University of Alabama, where he double-majored in Film and Psychology. He fell in love with the documentary form in the Documenting Justice course, a year-long intensive where he teamed up to create a documentary short.

Jeb gained valuable experience through working at various media positions in college. At Crimson Tide Productions, Jeb mastered rapid-turnaround editing by cutting sports highlights for live halftime broadcasts. However, his true calling emerged at the Center for Public Television. There, he mastered documentary filmmaking and honed his producing skills, culminating in an Emmy-nominated documentary.

After graduation, he was chosen for the Southern Exposure Fellowship where he collaborated with subject matter experts and community stakeholders to produce an award-winning environmental short. In the fall of 2019, Jeb moved to Atlanta to launch Hot Shoe Media alongside his college collaborators and close friends. This allowed him to immerse himself in the craft and deliver polished standalone videos and campaigns for over 56 brands.

Jeb drives the complete production process. He thrives behind the camera, having the hands-on experience of an elite one-man-band, coupled with the managerial and creative experience to field a larger crew. This gives him holistic command over how a video looks, sounds, and feels. Today, Jeb operates from Alpharetta, GA, leveraging this expertise to craft authentic docu-style content that leaves a lasting impact for clients in metro-Atlanta and across the Southeastern United States.
